INDIGENOUS-OWNED RECORD LABEL
OUR STORY
New Leaf Entertainment is an Indigenous-owned independent record label based in Canada. With offices in Edmonton, Toronto and Rama First Nation, New Leaf is home to an impressive roster of award-winning hip hop, EDM, country and pop recording artists.
Founded in 2005 by Doug Bedard and Jason Delaronde, New Leaf Entertainment’s first release was the Edmonton underground hip hop classic, Won-18, “The Dirty Boulevard.” From 2009 to the present, New Leaf has participated in the release of numerous LP’s, EP’s and singles from Juno-nominated country music artist Nathan Cunningham, Indigenous Music Award winning Rellik, and International Indigenous Hip Hop Music Award winning Plex. The label has also been heavily involved in the production & distribution of music videos by New Leaf artists, as well as creatives currently not on the roster. New Leaf is committed to building the confidence and amplifying the voices of Indigenous artists who may not have the resources, time or business acumen to help propel their own creative endeavours.
